Four British MPs have written to the Egyptian Red Crescent asking it to support the efforts of Magen David Adom (Israel’s Red Shield of David Society) to gain admission to the International Red Cross (IRC). The MPs, who include Zionist Federation Chairman Eric Moonman, pointed out that the IRC has refused Magen David Adom’s applications for the past 30 years.
They told the Red Crescent that by backing the Israeli move, it would “further emphasise the serious intention of the Egyptian people to establish a new era of peace, goodwill and cooperative fellowship in the Middle East.”
