Demolition of three-Jewish houses in the Achvah quarter has been cancelled, it was learned tonight. The residents have returned, but the authorities retained the doorkeys. Curfew in the quarter will be lifted tomorrow. Residents of the quarter were called in by the military commander and warned that strong measures would be taken to suppress Arab-Jewish violence. It was announced that 23-hour curfew would be continued for 10 days unless a £200 collective fine was paid.
