Secretary of State James F. Byrnes discussed the Palestine question here tonight with Prime Minister Clement R. Attlee, shortly after his arrival in Paris.

It is understood that the meeting was held at Mr. Attlee’s request and that prior to seeing the Prime Minister, Mr. Byrnes had conferred with Henry S. Grady, chief of the U.S. delegation to the just concluded Anglo-American talks on Palestine.

Earlier, the Secretary of State told a press conference that he had not yet had time to hold a full discussion on Palestine with the American expects. He declined to comment on the British “partition” plan.

The special meeting of the Jewish Agency which was scheduled to open here tomorrow has been postponed until the end of the week because some members of the Agency have not yet arrived. Despite his failing health, Dr. Weizmann is expected to attend. Dr. Stephen S. Wise and Dr. Nahum Goldmann are already here.
