The National Joint Public Relations Committee of the Canadian Jewish Congress and B’nai B’rith has urged the Ontario Labor Department to investigate the use of applications for teaching posts which require the applicant to supply his race, nationality, religious denomination and church attendance.
The Jewish group charged that the use of this form was “in violation of both the spirit and the letter of the Fair Employment Practices Act,” despite the fact that in the elementary schools there was a valid question whether the teacher was a supporter of “public or separate” schools.
