Consul-General Yissakhar Ben-Yaacov of Israel was received this weekend by John Cardinal Krol. The meeting followed the prelate’s return from Rome where he had received his red hat. The Cardinal, who discussed the Middle East situation with the Israeli diplomat, expressed the hope that peace would soon be achieved.
On behalf of the State of Israel, Mr. Ben-Yaacov presented Cardinal Krol with a Hebrew Bible printed in Jerusalem and received, in turn, a medallion commemorating the visit of Pope Paul VI to the United Nations in 1965.
