Chaim Nachman Bialik, the distinguished Hebrew poet, was the recipient of hundreds of messages of felicitation from individuals and organizations in Palestine and abroad, in connection with his sixtieth anniversary which was celebrated throughout the country yesterday, assuming the character of a national holiday.
The entire Hebrew press took note of the occasion, publishing special editions, devoted to a review of Bialik’s work and career. The Association of Hebrew Writers issued a special Bialik stamp in honor of the event.
A jubilee celebration was held last night in Tel Aviv. Hundreds of per-
sons were turned away, tickets for the event having been sold out days in advance.
