Local Jewry expects to double the number of students in the Jewish schools here during the next year, on the basis of plans perfected in the last three days during a visit by Zalman Shazar, head of the education department of the Jewish Agency. There are now 1, 200 children attending the Jewish schools.
Among the plans is early establishment of a Jewish Culture Center with the participation of the Zionist Federation, the Israel Government and the local Jewish community board of education.
