Assemblyman Albert D. Schanzer, who intends to introduce at the next session of the State Legislature a bill prohibiting any state, municipal or departmental examinations on any holy day of any religion having a following or devotees numbering one million or more, has been commended for this move by the Hebrew Religious Protective Association of Greater New York. Assemblyman Schanzer emphasized the fact that the bill is intended to benefit all representative religious groups in the State.
The resolution commending Mr. Schanzer was adopted by the Board of Directors of the Hebrew Religious Protective Association at its recent meeting. The Hebrew Religious Protective Association is said to represent 500 Jewish organizations, congregations, societies and lodges in Greater New York, with a combined membership of 150,000.
