The House of Representatives today heard two pleas, from New York City representatives Samuel Dickstein and Louis Capozzoli, calling upon the United Nations to save refugees of all faiths in Nazi-occupied Europe.
Congressman Dickstein reviewed the massacres and extermination threats by the Nazi Government and asked that a United Nations committee be appointed “to salvage as many human beings as we can, be they Jew, Catholic or Protestant.” Congressman Capozzoli told the House details of Nazi atrocities, and expressed the conviction that every American would support whatever steps would lead to the release of Hitler’s victims.
