Representatives of two Syrian groups as well as spokesman for Jewish organizations are expected to testify tomorrow at hearings on the resolution for free immigration to Palestine and for the ultimate establishment of a Jewish commonwealth there.
Members of the Foreign Affairs Committee received telegrams from A. J. Howar, vice president of the Syrian American Club here, and Faris S. Malouf, of the Syrian and Lebanese American Federation of Eastern States. Both groups indicated their desire to be heard.
The American Palestine Committee, headed by Senator Robert Wagner of New York, today published a statement in the press in behalf of 66 U. S. Senators, 118 Congressmen, 23 Governors and many mayors, clergymen, writers and civic leaders, demanding that “the padlocked doors of Palestine must be opened immediately.” and explaining why the Palestine resolution must be supported.
