Mr. Ernst H. Schiff, one of the leading Anglo-Jewish communal workers, died here yesterday at the age of 50. Mr. Schiff, who was a member of the famous Schiff family of New York bankers, and a brother of Mr. Otto M. Schiff, the President of the Jews’ Temporary Shelter, was President of the Jewish Religious Education Board, and Chairman of the Foreign Appeals Committee of the Jewish Board of Deputies. He was also Warden of the Great Synagogue.
The funeral took place to-day, and a memorial service will be held on Monday at the Great Synagogue.
