Detroit, the first city in the country to conduct a drive for the Allied Jewish Campaign, has over-subscribed its quota of $305,000 by $20,000 within ten days of the beginning of the canvass, it was announced today by Henry Wineman, chairman. Mr. Wineman termed the campaign the biggest triumph in fund-raising among Detroit Jews.
The victory luncheon was addressed by Adolph Finsterwald, chairman of the special gifts committee; Aaron de Roy, campaign treasurer; Meyer Prentis, chairman of the steering committee; Clarence Engass, chairman of the general solicitations committee; Fred Butzel, president of the Detroit Community Union and Tracy McGregor, president of the Detroit Community Fund.
