Aldermanic President Bernard S. Deutsch is “sitting pretty” these days. At least he is requested to do so, when in his office, by Joseph Horvell, internationally-known sculptor, who is doing a bust of Mr. Deutsch in bronze.
Mr. Horvell, for whom such personages as Queen Marie of Rumania, the late President Harding, King Ferdinand of Bulgaria, Albert Coates, British orchestra conductor, and others have sat, is making himself at home in Mr. Deutsch’s office and when the busy Aldermanic head happens to sit down at his desk Mr. Horvell gets to work with his sculptor’s trowel.
Mr. Deutsch said he doesn’t know what will be done with the bust when it is completed— but vetoed a suggestion that it adorn the portals to one of the city’s parks.
