The Central Committee of Displaced Jews in Italy will send representatives to Geneva to protest to the headquarters of the International Refugee Organization against the discharge of two I.R.O. deputy chiefs in Italy, it was announced today.
The two, Anthony Sorieri and Louis Varichione, both Americans who previously served in a similar capacity for UNRRA, have been replaced by two Britons, both former high officers in the British armed services. The Jews fear that the growing British influence in I.R.O. top circles will result in the replacement of I.R.O. officials sympathetic to Jewish refugees.
