Dr. Oscar Kohn well-known Jewish Socialist leader, celebrated his sixtieth birthday today. Dr. Kohn was born in Guttentag in 1869. He has been practicing law in Berlin since 1897. Since 1921 he has been active in the Socialist Party in Germany and has been for many years deputy in the German parliament.
After the war he entered the field of Jewish activities. He joined the Jewish Labor Party “Poale Zion” and in 1925 was elected their representative to the Kehillah in Berlin.
Dr. Kohn repeatedly defended the rights of the East European Jews in Germany. He is also active in many social and welfare organizations, and is chairman of the council of Hias-Emigdirect.
