Jewish leaders here today demanded increased police protection for Jewish institutions following a dynamite explosion yesterday in a Jewish center. Forty-four window panes were shattered by the blast.
The Jewish War Veterans have suggested the formation of an armed guard and indicated that they will seek permission from the authorities for this project. High police officials said that they may permit members of the Jewish community to guard their institutions. In the meantime, the sum of $1,000 was posted by Jews here as a reward for any clue leading to the arrest of the anti-Semitic hooligans responsible.
