Israel and Egypt fought another battle again today across the Suez Canal–their fourth since Saturday–and Israel said it hit Egyptian fuel storage tanks. An Israeli military spokesman said that Israeli shells destroyed an Egyptian sniper position and set at least one oil tank ablaze while scoring hits on others. Each side blamed the other for starting the exchange. Israel claimed the snipers fired at “routine” Israeli activity on the east bank.
