Egypt’s Ambassador to Israel, Saad Mortada, issued a statement from his Embassy today officially thanking all Israelis who expressed their condolences over the death of President Anwar Sadat last month. The Egyptian leader was gunned down by assassins Oct. 6.
The statement added, “The Embassy stresses that the Arab Republic of Egypt, under the leadership ot President Mohammed Hosni Mubarak, continues the process of peace which was begun by the late President. It is determined to continue the efforts to fulfill the wishes of the region’s peoples for an overall and just peace.”
