Two Americans, a Frenchman and a Jewish-British philanthropist were named here today by the Albert Einstein College of Medicine as winners of the Albert Einstein Commemorative Awards for 1967, The winners are James A. Michener, American novelist; Andrew Wyeth, U.S. painter; Dr. Andre Lwoff,of France, a Nobel Prize winner in Medicine; and Sir Isaac Wolfson, of Britain.
They were cited for their “unique accomplishments” in their respective fields of literature, art, science and philanthropy. The awards, consisting of medallions, will be made at a dinner here on May 7.
