Ephraim R. Gomberg will succeed Dr. Kurt Peiser as executive head of the Philadelphia Allied Jewish Appeal on Jan. 1, it was announced here by Samuel H. Daroff, president, in a massage to the board of directors of the Appeal at a meeting held yesterday at the Hotel Ritz-Carlton.
Having served as executive director of the Allied Jewish Appeal since January, 1948, Mr. Gomberg now assumes the duties carried by Dr. Peiser, who retires Jan. 1. He will retain the post of executive director, in which capacity he guided the administrative and fund-raising affairs of the Appeal, and will take on all other executive functions. “His acceptance of the executive leadership of the Allied Jewish Appeal assures Philadelphia of an increasingly vital and dynamic agency,” Mr. Daroff said.
