“Teachers who investigate the Jewish ancestry of their pupils in order to prevent non-Aryans from going to high school, and who teach their students to shout ‘Heil Hitler’ after having formerly told them that he is a mad man, are no more than training officers in a martial training camp,” declared Miss Maria Halberstadt, who spoke on her experiences as a former teacher in Germany to a capacity audience of summer session students at Teachers College yesterday afternoon. Her address was the feature of a meeting of the Teachers College League Against War and Fascism.
