An amendmen to the immigration law to permit the admittance into the United States of the parents of American citizens, outside the quota, was proposed in a bill introduce in the Senate by Senator Walsh of Massachusetts. The bill was referred to the Senate Immigration Committee.
In a statement accompanying the bill Senator Walsh declared: “As the law now reads, the parents of American citizens are given only preference within the quota, which in most countries has been exhausted for many years to come. This amendment would give to the parents of American citizens a non-quota status and allow them to enter the country without years of waiting. It is purely a human measure.”
Louis James Rosenberg, Detroit attornen has received notice that he has been elected a member of the Royal Societies Club of London, England.
The Royal Societies Club includes members of various royal societies of the British. Empire, as well as outstanding personalltie of other countries. The president of the club is the Earl of Balfour and the vice-president is the Archbishop of York.
Mr. Rosenberg is attorney for several for eign consulates, including the British consulate at Detroit. He was formerly in the American diplomatic service under Presidents Roosevelt and Taft. He is the author of several books and has been twice president of the Michigan Authors’ Association.
