Exodus Refugees Declare 24-hour Hunger Strike As Protest After Clashes with Troops

The 4,400 Exodus refugees imprisoned aboard the British prison ships in the harbor here today called a 24-hour hunger strike for tomorrow as a result of clashes yesterday with British troops on all three vessels. Women and children will participate in the strike.

On the Empire Rival a number of immigrants have been arrested and all holds have been closed down with hundreds of men, women and children imprisoned in airless, crowded quarters. The soldiers also burned most of the books sent the refugees by Zionist groups and relief organizations. Meanwhile, no more Jews left the vessel although several were ill.
