The fifteen members of the Ku Klux Klan upon whom sentence was to be imposed on Monday, were refused a hearing for a new trial by Superior Judge Scott. The fifteen who were found guilty of criminal assault upon a Jewish family at Long Beach face prison terms ranging up to ten years and fines not exceeding five thousand dollars. They were part of a group of fifty who, dressed in the regalia of the Ku Klux Klan, attacked the home of a Jewish tailor, David Milder, on November 16.
Superior Judge Scott, while refusing the hearing for the new trial, allowed them to file application for probation on March 6th.
