Foreign Minister Ahti Karjalainen of Finland appealed today for a solution in the Middle East based on respect for the integrity and sovereignty of all the states in the area, and on the United Nations Charter. Addressing a luncheon he tendered in honor of Foreign Minister Abba S. Eban of Israel, the Finnish statesman urged that the states of the Middle East resolve their differences without recourse to force or threats of force.
