A united Jewish front to combat the anti-Sabbath calendar reform proposal was organized here today upon the initiative of the World Shomrei Shabbos, Sabbath Observance Union. Representatives of the German Federation of Jewish Communities, the Rabbinical Union, the Relief Association of German Jews, the Zionist Organization, the Jewish Agency, the Central Association of German Citizens of the Jewish Faith, the B’nai Brith and Liberal Jews decided to cooperate with world Jewry in an appeal to the League of Nations against the calendar reform.
Speakers pointed out the adverse economic effects of such a calendar change. The meeting resolved to thank the Zurich calendar committee and the New York League for Safeguarding the Fixity of the Sabbath.
