Establishment of a “Committee of Action and Discipline” to improve the fund-raising results of the United Jewish Appeal in France was decided on at an emergency conference of the French Zionist Federation. The meeting was called to “remedy the unsatisfactory fund-raising position in France.”
Sam Segal, representing the Jewish Agency executive in Jerusalem, told the parley that failure of the 1950 United Jewish Appeal campaign in France would mean not only a financial but a moral blow to Zionists in this country, “since the future of the French Zionist movement depends on the success of the campaign.”
