Funeral services were held here Friday for Brig. Gen. David Carmon, 48, the Israeli military attache in Washington, who died there last Tuesday of a heart attack. Defense Minister Moshe Dayan and Chief of Staff Gen. Haim Bar Lev were among the mourners.
Gen. Carmon was a native of Jerusalem and had served as a senior officer in the Israel Defense Forces for a number of years. He joined the Hagana, the predecessor of the official army, in 1945 after studying history and philosophy at Hebrew University.
Gen. Carmon became a member of the group that founded the Staff and Command College and later served as deputy chief instructor.
