The Czechoslovakian Government has initiated steps for possible extradition of Franz Kamarsin, State Secretary of the Slovakian Government during the Hitler regime, who is held responsible for the murder of 50,000 Jews, Gypsies and Hungarians during World War II, it was revealed here today by the prosecutor’s office. To make sure that Kamarsin does not claim expiration of the German statute of limitations in regard to war crimes, it was announced that steps toward shutting off such an escape avenue have already been taken by the Ludwigsburg Central Office for the investigation of Nazi Crimes. Kamarsin was the leader of the German minority group in Slovakia. He was tried in absentia in Czechoslovakia in 1947, and sentenced to death by a Czech court which found him guilty of war crimes.
