The Afro-Asian seminar on cooperative movements, called by the Histadrut, has brought together representatives of various countries without being “directed against anybody,” Foreign Minister Golda Meir told the seminar today. The three-month convocation has attracted delegates from 17 different countries.
The aims of the parley were defined by Mrs. Meir as: lengthening the life span, improving the standard of living, and development of natural resources for the “greater happiness of all without distinction.” Israel, she emphasized, is proud of the fact that it was chosen as the locale of the conference and will be studied as an example of how people cooperate for the common good.
