Dr. Jacob Kaplan, Grand Rabbi of France, was installed today as a member of the French Academy of Moral and Political Sciences, filling the seat formerly held by Georges Duhamel, novelist and essayist. Among those present at the ceremony was Sir Hamza Boubakeur, rector of the Moslem Institute of the Paris Mosque.
Dr. Kaplan, who is 72, is the author of many books on philosophy and on Jewish life. He is the holder of the Croix de Guerre and is a Commander of the Legion of Honor.
