Hanoch Givton, director-general of the Tourism Ministry, is now the sole candidate for the post of Consul General in New York, according to newspaper reports. Givton was formerly head of the Broadcasting Authority and served for a short time as a member of the Israel Mission to the UN, David Rivlin, present Consul General in New York, is due to leave his post this summer to become Israel’s Ambassador to Norway.
