The discovery of a large number of Hebrew poems that were written several hundred years ago and which throw light on the religious life of the Jewish communities in different parts of the Byzantine Empire is reported by Dr. S. Bernstein in Horeb. scientific Hebrew publication devoted to Jewish research published by the Teachers Institute of Yeshiva College.
According to Dr. Bernstein, practically all the poems and poets were unknown heretofore and represent “an important poetical contribution to the world of literature.”
