With the arrival of Prof. Julius Guttman from Berlin to become head of the Department of Jewish Philosophy at the Hebrew University, it has been decided that his chair will be called the Rosenbloom Chair after Sol Rosenbloom, American Jew, who died in 1925.
This chair and Prof. Samuel Klein’s in Palestinology are financed by the $10,000 annual income from a $200,000 endowment left by Mr. Rosenbloom for sciences and philosophy at the university. Subsequently, his widow established a $500,000 building fund, augmented recently by another half million, in his name, part of which is now being used to erect a Building of Arts.
