Hitler is by no means a transitory figure in German affairs and will remain for a long time, declared Abbe Edouard Dimnet, French lecturer and cleric, who arrived here yesterday on the French liner Champlain for an American lecture tour.
“Whether you like it or not,” he told ship news reporters, “Hitler will remain for a long time.”
Abbe Dimnet denied that there was any prospect of immediate war in Europe. “Much of Europe is thinking of war, trying to stave off war, but none of the nations have any money to make war,” he stated.
