The first action under the present anti-Jewish law was brought before the Labor Court today by Engineer Educard Zollschan, who protested his dismissal from the Hungarian Coin Telephone Company. Zollschan contended that he had been dismissed on the basis of the Nazi Nuremberg laws “per cent war invalided,” — an exempt category.
The telephone company has dismissed all of its Jewish employes, it was revealed, announcing that their posts would be filled with Germans if “Aryan” Hungarians were not available. A representative of the firm claimed that Zollschan had not been a full – time employe, but was only an “occasional agent.” Zollschan contended that he had received 300 pengoe for signing a declaration that he had never been employed by the firm although he had worked eight years for it. The court reserved judgment.
