Clark M. Eichelberger, executive director of the American Association for the United Nations suggested today that the Eisenhower Doctrine not be limited to defending rations from Communist aggression alone, but that it include protection of nations against aggression whatever its ideology.

Testifying before the House Foreign Affairs Committee on President Eisenhower’s Middle East plan for stand-by authority to use American troops in the Middle East, Mr. Eichelberger said he could imagine Israel the victim of attack by Arab states and indicated that Arab aggression–like any aggression–should be as abhorrent to the U.S. as Communist aggression.
