Indian Ambassador B. K. Nehru, appearing before the National Press Club, indicated today that India sees no contradiction in its support of Arab claims to revert the Israeli borders to the 1947 Partition Plan as against India’s refusal to adjust the Kashmir boundaries.
Mr. Nehru said that India’s policy is to support the status quo of boundaries or change according to a particular case. He strongly opposed a change in the Kashmir boundary. He made the comments in response to a question from the audience, seeking an explanation of how India’s Kashmir border stand squared with her backing of Arab boundary claims against Israel.
