Bernhard Rust, Prussian Minister of Education, today ordered the introduction of a numerus clausus against the Jewish students in art and music schools and academies. Only one and one-half percent of the students in these institutions are to be Jewish. However, this is exclusive of the non-Aryans who participated in the war, and the children of mixed marriages, where one of the parents or two of the grandparents are Aryans.
Jewish students who come within the numerus clausus quota will be compelled to pass special examinations to prove their fitness for an education in music or in art. In addition they will be asked to prove their close contact with the German nation.
