Police on constant patrol of the streets of Ramla acted swiftly today to break up groups of Jews who appeared to be planning to repeat the attacks of last Sunday in which 12 Arab residents of the city were injured. Police had arrested 21 of the Jewish attackers after they set upon Arab citizens in the streets.
Shmuel Toledano, Premier Levi Eshkol’s adviser on Arab affairs, met yesterday with Arab officials in Ramla, and assured them that Israeli authorities would deal sternly with any further attacks on Ramla’s Arab citizens.
