“The millions of dollars invested by American Jews in Israel Bonds since the beginning of November, and the magnificent spirit in which the United Jewish Appeal and the Histadrut convention adopted unprecedented quotas for immediate material aid to Israel, bear evidence of the strong bonds that unite the Jews of America with the fate of Israel,” Itzhak Harcavi, General Secretary of the World Union of Labor Zionist Organizations, declared here today prior to his return to Israel.

Mr. Harcavi, who was a guest of the American Labor Zionist movement during his two months’ tour of the United States, Canada and Mexico, visited numerous communities where he addressed large meetings. “My contacts with non-Jews, and what I have found in the American press impressed me further with the deep understanding of the American people for Israel’s struggle to maintain and secure the existence of its democratic and progressive society,” the Israel labor leader said.
