The Israel naval vessel Mrsgav arrived at the Italian port of Leghorn with 30 cadets of the Israel Navy. The cadets, completing a three-year training course with this cruise visited ports in South Africa, Gold Coast and Liberia, before steaming into Loghorn. In Liberia, the President paid a visit to the vessel, accompanied by members of the diplomatic corps.
The cadets and crew of the Misgav attended services in the Leghorn synagogue Saturday and then received a visit from the Italian Admiral in charge of the port, who later gave the cadets and Israel Minister Eliahu Sasson a luncheon. The cadets visited Florence and Pisa and were guests of honor last night at a dance by the Italian Naval Academy, Today, officials of the city were guests of the commander of the Misgav at a shipboard cocktail party. The vessel departs for Haifa tomorrow.
