The Israel Government today thanked Argentine President Juan Peron for his condemnation of anti-Jewish attacks in Eastern Europe and his call for the strengthening of Israel as the best haven for possible refugees from that area.

Israel’s thanks were conveyed by A. Darom, director of the Latin American Division of the Foreign Ministry, who called on Martinez Repette, Charge d’Affaires of the Argentine legation. The Peron statement was featured on the front pages of Israel’s newspapers.
