The British Government–and the other Western Powers were put on notice today that Israel had no intention of ceding territory to the Arab states regardless of the Arab claims or big power pressure for such “adjustments.”

In a statement commenting on a call last night by Prime Minister Sir Anthony Eden that Egypt and Israel settle boundary differences by a “compromise” somewhere between the Arab insistence on implementation of UN resolutions on Palestine and the Israel stand that it would keep the territory it occupies under the terms of armistice agreements, the Israel Embassy here made the following points:

1. The Arab governments rejected the UN resolutions when they launched a war against Israel; 2. While Israel holds more territory as a result of the armistice agreements, Jordan received central Palestine and half of Jerusalem while Egypt recieved the Gaza strip from these same pacts; 3. Nowhere has Israel occupied territory beyond that of Mandated Palestine.
