Israeli Ambassador to the United Nations Yehuda Lancry is visiting several French-speaking countries in Africa to explain Israel’s reaction to the Palestinian uprising. According to an Israeli diplomatic source, the hope is that Lancry’s visit will “plant a seed” and foster new ties in Africa, which is generally sympathetic to the Palestinian cause.
