A 25-year-old Israeli Arab confessed to police that he planted two hand grenades in the Tel Aviv bus terminal three weeks ago which caused the blast that killed two persons and injured 25 others. Police did not reveal the name of the suspect, but identified him as a resident of Baqa el Gharbiya village, near Hadera and said he was working for a terrorist ring in East Jerusalem More arrests are expected shortly. In an urgent session convened this morning, the Community Council of Baqa el Gharbiya passed a resolution condemning all “terror outrages” against the State of Israel. In its resolution, the village Council declared that this young man’s act was an exception to the rule and that the residents of the village are loyal to the State of Israel. The death toll in the explosion rose to two on Friday when a 23-year-old Israeli soldier, Abraham Hadari, succumbed to his wounds. The first victim who was killed instantly was a young immigrant from Iraq. Police said their suspect who speaks fluent Hebrew re-enacted the crime. Police also revealed today that 12 Arabs suspected of throwing grenades in Jerusalem during the past few months have been arrested and that searches in the occupied territories have yielded arms caches.
