Israeli helicopters fired missiles at two cars traveling in the Gaza Strip, killing a Hamas militant and wounding four other Palestinians. Palestinians said the attack was aimed at senior Hamas militant Mohammed Deif, who was traveling in one of the cars. Atop Israel’s most wanted list for years, Deif is accused of masterminding several 1996 suicide bombings that killed dozens of Israelis.
