Israeli officials are discussing a proposal to create a television channel for fervently Orthodox, or haredi, viewers, according to the Israeli daily Ha’aretz. Because there is a longstanding haredi prohibition against viewing television, families that order the new channel would be offered the option of blocking all other channels.
