Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak named a former journalist and spokesman for the Israeli Embassy in Washington as his communications adviser. Gadi Baltiansky will be responsible for contacts with the foreign press in Israel. Baltiansky accompanied the prime minister on his first trip to Washington after he took office. He was spokesman at the Israeli Embassy in Washington from 1995 to 1998. Prior to that, he was a reporter for the Israeli daily Yediot Achronot.
