Israel’s current border problems, and the general situation in the Middle East region were discussed today by Michael S. Comay, Israel’s permanent representative at the U.N,, and Secretary General U Thant. The meeting, at Mr, Comay’s request, lasted 45 minutes, and was said to have been “a continuation of Israel’s periodic contact” with the UN chief.
Prior to meeting Mr. Comay, the Secretary-General met with the permanent representatives of Saudi Arabia and Egypt here. However, it was said that the latter had discussed the Yemen situation, and that their conference with Mr. Thant had no relationship to the visit by Mr. Comay.
